A good deal and a good example
My dear friend Yoncio Feyoncio Fregoncio vagrancy (I think we all are names of him and I have only hope that none of the family) has been, since I know an example in the double sense of the word : 1) I MUST done or how things should be and 2) what should NOT be done and should not be resolved as issues (something to which he often called "counter-example").
Being a great listener, is able to nod at length with the head and then finish the consultations that I pointed, very subtly, I understand, but do not agree with my way of behaving and even the principle of which starts to behave a certain way may be the least wise. My good friend, whom I admire in large part by anti-modernist tosudez has been for me a good example of what not to get carried away by impulse consumption. Both home and office, and your clothes and your vehicle are quite conservative (sometimes retain more traces of the time than myself, a certain 'awkward sartorial dressing' I would in my own). In a nutshell, has always been an example of it is not necessary to have the latest fashion to enjoy your surroundings, or have the latest technology to work and communicate.
Wise and scholar as I explained in our school years, the meaning and reasoning problems in mathematics and statistics. I am sure that without his example of tenacity and insistence that I complete and submit my homework, never could I prove these subjects, let alone finish my thesis (Whose ratios and proportions in my very behavioral findings reviewed it.)
Despite the many "good examples" who offered me (being a good son, good friend, good seducer, a psychologist), of which I followed very few (if not none), my dear, wise friend I also provided some examples of what not to do and even gave me the opportunity to practice my very basic arithmetic skills. The most notable counter-examples to me my friend Yoncio Feyoncio given me in life is that of his discouragement over the use of bicycles. It turns out that, in exercise of the conservative habit, bought a bicycle that cost $ 1.000 (one thousand Mexican pesos). Green, with attachments that did not fit well with his stature or his tastes, but whose price is convinced. Neighbor faithful Chapalita Colony (which leaves very little, and in spite), he climbed on his new tricycle to travel the paths on the median of Avenida Lázaro Cárdenas. After his experience, he pointed to the existence of that lonely path ... and forgot to return to cycling. The cost of the bike was fixed and in a thousand pesos per trip.
The moral to be derived from wasteful behavior of my friend, it did not even reach their workplace once the bike is, to me, it's best buy a bike a little more expensive but that is comfortable and meets the needs of each user. Thus, someone who buys a bike at $ 10,000 (ten thousand Mexican pesos) will not be buying it to use only ten trips but, if it is suitable for the weight, habits, tastes, the size of the user, may serve a lot of travel. A bike of that price, but only used once a week for a year and is transferring to the workplace, to visit friends or to fix some issues in the vicinity, can "reduce" its price and Instead of costing a thousand dollars on one trip, as my friend Yoncio, cost just under $ 200 (two hundred dollars) per shipment. Assuming that the successful buyer of that bike can only use it once a week, would be spending actually $ 192.30 per trip, regardless of some minimal costs for maintenance (oil in the chain, setting brakes, tires, gloves, bicycle and helmet .) Instead, so far there are no parking spaces for bicycles in which copper, because just a pole, a fence, a tree, to tie the velocipede, which parking fees are minimal.
Compared to my friend's bike, we see that a bike that looked 10 times more expensive, in fact, its suitability for the user and frequent use (For example, only once a week), is 5 times cheaper.
If we compare this with the cheapest purchase of new vehicles sold in Mexico, the costs soar. A motor vehicle of $ 85,000 (eighty-five thousand dollars), assuming that is used five times a week (260 times per year) would cost $ 326 pesos per trip. And that's without considering taxes, gasoline, maintenance, parking fees and washing.
not want to be a demanding and asking people to be conservative and just buy the cheapest car on the market there. But what stands out is the obvious: as the vehicle price increases, cost per day is increasing. And as you use most any vehicle, the cost per trip reduced, even though the cost per unit distance traveled (whether meters, kilometers, thousands of kilometers) is amended: More miles mean more fuel consumption.
All this to point out that the best example we can make other people move around our cities is to use the bike at least once a week, to show that they can do good business even at speeds as low as 10 20 kilometers per hour, but they are much more efficient than motor vehicles in traffic city dweller.
