The Royal English Academy has received three nominations for the chair "Z" which belonged to Francisco Ayala until his death. One of the three, we are pleased to bullfighting culture lovers, is that of professor at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, D. Andrés Amorós Guardiola, great lover of the Festival, a renowned advocate of it and declared scholar of history and its meaning.
Andrés Amorós born Valencia, 15 February 1941. He has a PhD in Romance Philology and has been, until this year, Professor of English Literature at the Universidad Complutense . It was also a member of the Advisory Council National Drama Centre , cultural director of the Fundación Juan March , where he created the Library of the twentieth century English Theatre, patron of the Festival of Almagro and Pro Foundation Royal College of Dramatic Arts in Madrid .
directed the Company National Classical Theatre and in 2000 was appointed director general of Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM).
With more than 100 books published, we are pleased to know that more than 20 have been dedicated to bullfighting, which, as already noted, is a great researcher and an avowed lover of history. Such interesting titles as: Martial Bullfighting Lalanda , Lot and bullfighters, and culture Toros, Toros culture and language, Writers at the Fiesta , etc, etc, and an eclectic work on the life and bullfighting Ignacio Sánchez Mejía, which started with the crying to write García Lorca, and that continues, as does Just a year surprised us by presenting a play that left unpublished a bullfighter, which is called: Bitterness triumph, a novel that unravels Andrew with his proverbial expertise and sensitivity.
Andrés Amorós Award is José María de Cossio by Royal Bullfighting Federation, Doctor Zumel Literature Prize taurine; Ladder of Success No. 172; Madroño of Albero, National Essay Prize, National Prize of Literary Criticism, Fastenrath Prize of the Royal English Academy, etc, etc.
currently directs the program "Music and Lyrics' chain 'esRadio', and is the director of critical taurine journal ABC, which is giving us with his usual generosity good sense, moderation in the trial, the knowledge of bullfighting and the cult of their culture.
wish that on April 7, when they occur the feedback from academics, to get our friend Andrew so precious to sit on chair, from which no doubt will continue showing the richness of the language of bullfighting, and propagated within the scope of the Academy of the intensity with which Bullfighting has always participated in the evolution of English society, in accordance with the assertion Ortega y Gasset, who wrote that to study the history of Spain from 1650 to present (was 1940), there was that ignore the history of our Party.
and culminate forecast Dr. Thebussem , that intellectual versatility of the late nineteenth century, who predicted in one of his letters to writer Luis Carmena taurine and Millan, that before bulls come to write of intellectuals and academics, to ensure that scholars like own Carmena, Peña y Goñi, Mariano de Cavia, Pascual Millán, Sanchez de Neira, Asenjo Barbieri , etc, were intensively involved in taurine literature, their history and culture.
know it is very difficult at present three applications may be obtained majority required, but we have great expectations (arising from our clear desire) to D. Andrés Amorós Guardiola comes to getting the chair said holding the letter 'Z'. The guarantees are supporting the candidacy of weight: Manuel Seco , José Luis San Pedro and Gregorio Salvador. It would be very good for a bullfighting critic, columnist and broadcaster of the same would agree to such a high platform.
We support "blatantly" the candidacy of our beloved and dear friend Andrew , for surely your choice would be a success for the Fiesta, and a great support to our claims that it be declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO
